HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!?

The story behind how the idea of Between the Now and the Next came to fruition is actually very fun! The first thing you should know is that I absolutely uh-DORE Bob Goff! I know this seems like an odd thing to mention, but just keep reading, it will make sense.

In December of 2024, I was listening to the audiobook, Dream Big by Bob and in the back of every book he writes, he lists his phone number. Yes, his actual phone number. So, on December 27, 2024, I picked up the phone and called him. And guess what?!?! HE ANSWERED! I explained to him that just the month prior, I self-published my first book, Healing on the Horizon, and I was having a difficult time getting interview opportunities. I told him I wasn’t sure how to best market my book and that I would appreciate any advice he had. And the next thing that he said seemed to so effortlessly leave his lips. It sounded so simple the way he said it…

 “Just start your own podcast.”

That is where the idea for this podcast began and that day, the ideas started flowing and I very excitedly launched Between the Now and the Next Podcast in June 2025.

On each episode, I get the opportunity to converse with people that I now call “friends”, from all walks of life. We talk about a myriad of topics including faith, mental health, relationships, identity, the periods of life that don’t always have clear answers, and the waiting seasons we all experience. The best part is that every episode points back to God as we get to learn from those that are courageous and vulnerable enough to share their testimony about how they trusted God when the path didn’t look the way they imagined.

My prayer was that God would use me as a vessel to create a space where listeners feel seen, encouraged, and reminded that they aren’t walking through life alone and that there are others that have wrestled through similar circumstances they might be walking through right now! I want these conversations to feel like friends just sitting down to catch up over a good cup of coffee and to share stories about the faithfulness of God. Because in the moment, whether we see it or not, God thoughtfully has something up his sleeve. When we put our trust in the LORD, we can rest assured that there is always something meaningful happening between the now and the next.
